Why is Attendant Care Critical for TAC Clients?

Recovering from a transport accident can be a long and challenging process. Attendant care is crucial as it helps clients manage their day-to-day lives, which might be difficult due to injuries. The care provided allows clients to stay in their homes, maintain their routines, and stay connected with their community. This support is not only vital for physical recovery but also for mental and emotional well-being.

What Specific Services Does TAC Attendant Care Include?

TAC attendant care services are comprehensive and designed to meet each client’s unique needs. Services typically include:

  • Personal Care: Assistance with essential tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. This service is crucial for clients who have limited mobility or cannot perform these tasks independently due to their injuries.
  • Mobility Support: Help with moving around the home, transferring in and out of bed, and using mobility aids like walkers or wheelchairs. This support ensures that clients can move safely and comfortably within their living environment.
  • Meal Preparation: Preparing, cooking, and serving meals tailored to the client’s dietary needs. Proper nutrition is a key component of the recovery process, and our caregivers ensure that clients receive balanced and nutritious meals.
  • Household Tasks: Support with everyday household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and organising the home. These tasks can be overwhelming for someone recovering from an injury, and our caregivers ensure the living space is clean and comfortable.
  • 24-Hour Care: For clients with complex care needs, we provide around-the-clock support. This ensures that clients have immediate access to care whenever needed, which is particularly important for those with severe injuries or who are recovering from major surgery.

How Much Do TAC Attendant Care Services Cost?

The cost of TAC attendant care services is determined by the IRQS (Independent Review against Quality Standards) rates set by TAC. These rates cover a wide range of services, including personal care, mobility support, meal preparation, and household tasks. Sunrise2Sunrise processes payments through the Care Online billing system, which is designed to be transparent and efficient.

How Do You Access TAC Attendant Care Services?

To access TAC attendant care services, you must first be approved by the TAC. After a transport accident, your doctor, occupational therapist, or another medical professional from your treating team will assess your needs and recommend attendant care if necessary. This assessment will determine the type and level of care you require.

Once the assessment is completed, the TAC will review the recommendation and, if approved, will arrange for the attendant care services to be provided by a registered provider like Sunrise2Sunrise.

The TAC may require additional approval if the services are needed more than 90 days after the accident or if they fall into specific categories that require further review.

It’s important to work closely with your healthcare team and the TAC to ensure you receive the appropriate support. If you have any questions or need assistance navigating the approval process, Sunrise2Sunrise is here to help.
